once it had accepted that it wasn’t a person, but just an object I found myself pushing it in other directions. it no longer owned itself or anything else so I started stripping it of other basic rights. I regularly reminded it that it was an object and owned nothing, not even itself, not it’s mind, it’s body, nothing. I would ask it about possessions in its house and if they had any meaning to it. at first there were a few, but after a while even an item it treasured was just something else in the house. As it had several cats and a dog I also reminded it that it was lower even that the animals in its house.
The one day I started telling it that it didn’t belong on furniture, that furniture was for people not possessions, within a few weeks it was sitting on the floor all the time, only occasionally asking to use the couch during particularly bad periods. it never complained or resisted it just kept accepting my word as its truth even when I told it that it didn’t belong on the bed. Within a month it was sleeping in an extra large dog crate from walmart and would only use the bed if it was feeling especially bad(and had permission). If asked if it prefered the couch or the crate it always chose the crate and even slept on the floor when visiting a friend because it couldn’t get comfortable on the bed. To this day it has never complained about its place on the floor and always says that’s where it belongs because it isn’t a person, just a possession.
